There are a few benefits to absolute monarchy. Some of the benefits are highly dependent and single enduring.
In a constitutional monarchy, like in England, the monarch does not have much power at all, because there is a constitution. In an absolute monarchy, they have absolute power. In a constitutional monarchy, the power of the monarch is limited by some set of rules or document (e.g. a constitution), which sets out the powers given to the monarch. Other powers are given to other groups, commonly judges and a legislature. How much power is given to each group and the monarch varies widely, and is entirely up to the constitution of the country in question. In an absolute monarchy, the monarch is presumed to be God-(or other deity)-ordained, and rules with no limits on their power.
Some choices would be nice for a "which" question, but in terms of political theories, most European Kings in the 1600s were absolutist and believed in the divine right of the monarchy, so ABSOLUTE MONARCHY or any derivative of that would be most supported. England, however, was already a constitutional monarchy by this point and the Kings of England knew that they would never be able to assert absolute power again, which meant that those kings would want something slightly different than absolute monarchy, but not terribly different.

It depends entirely on the absolute monarchy in question. There are still absolute monarchies in some parts of the world, like Saudi Arabia or Brunei Darussalam
A government run by a king or queen would be an absolute monarchy. Although, some nations, such as the United Kingdom, have a constitutional monarchy, where the queen does not have absolute power.
One could argue that a clear line of succession is an advantage of a monarchy. From the perspective of the monarchy, absolute power would be another advantage.
