If you mean religion, Henry (when he was young) wrote a book about the Catholic religion and how good it was, he was in good books with the pope (who let him marry his first wife Catherine of Aragon, even though she was married to his brother), but when he wanted to divorce her/get an annulment he fell out with the Pope and created the Church of England, becoming protestant. Catholicism what is church according to Richard Mc Brien?

Roman Catholic AnswerFr. Richard McBrien is a well know theology professor and writer who has several famous books to his credit; further, he is well known as someone that talk show hosts like to ask questions of. The problem is that Fr. McBrien's theology and that of the Church do not often coincide. He has been rebuked by the American Bishops several times, and by the Vatican. He has reissued his book on Catholicsm and still could not get an Imprimatur for it due to numerous heretical ideas contained in it. If you want to know Fr. McBrien's definition of anything, you would probably need to read one of his books, but I wouldn't waste the time. There are libraries full of wonderful books on the church written by saints. Regardless, the last place you should ask about Fr. McBrien's opinions would be a site dedicated to the Catholic Church. I have put the link below for his book on church, but, again, it is not my recommendation that you read it, it has not received an imprimatur for a good reason. Even the people who have recommended his book on Amazon are considered hererodox.
