first of all the name of a website should reflect the content of your website, so your visitors can tell or guess what the website is about. For example when you see wikianswers you know or guess it has something to do with some kind of looking for help thing.
But of course the name of the domain can be fancy and creative, as long as it sticks to the content of the website. Imagine if a website called electronicbook.com is selling apples, that will make it weird.
another very important thing you need to consider is the sub names after the domain, which in many cases will help you get more visitors to your site when ppl do organic search. for example www.electronicbook.com/how_to_drive.html is much better than just calling it www.electronicbook.com/mypage.html, because each time ppl searching for "how to drive" in Google or other search engines, your page will have a bigger chance to be ranked higher since the file name matches the key words that people are searching for.
Finally the name should be a combination of no more than 3 words, since it makes it difficult for people to ready. If you need to have 3 words as the domain, use - or _ to separate them. For instance www.peoplewanttotalk.com is more difficult to read than www.people_want2talk.com
Given the popularity of websites like myspace and facebook, any competing sites are going to have to find a niche or theme which differentiates itself from those two. With their huge domination of that market, a new starter has no hope of meeting them head-on.
In that vein, i present you with my idea for slapfight.com.... instead of sending messages users would send each other slaps. Red hand-marks could be superimposed on the users' avatar whenever a message has recently been received, and if possible you could tie it in with a silly one-on-one slapfight flash game.
"Slap your friends silly on slapfight.com"
Oh.... you asked for a GOOD name.... im afraid i cant help you there.
It depends on what kind of website it is. like if someone named Disney.com stuftanimal.com that really wouldn't make any sense so be more specific and someone may be able to answer your question.
whoever gave that answer is right, it depends. like if ur making one that is for like hanging out a social blog or somethin than do a fun website name.
Some good wbsite titles would depend on what kind oif website it is. If you are making a website for a business you should name it the name of your business.
Ex: Store name: Graphics R' Us Stores website: Graphics.com, .org, .net etc.
Well, it depends what the website is about. For example if the website is about yoyo's then make a title like yoyodojo.com. Just try making rhyming words with the topic of your site and you will come up with a catchy title sooner than you would expect
Choosing the name of a personal or business website depends on the availability of the name and also what audience one wishes to reach. Often times a website designing company can offer a person advice and guidance on that.
