Just about everything can be recycled and re-used, but the technology or opportunity may not be available in your area.
Even something like polystyrene foam, the curse of landfills, can be broken down and used again, with the right chemicals.
More and more local area authorities, or local councils, are providing recycling bins that are collected regularly. And as technologies improve, they are able to collect more and more different types of plastic, different kinds of milk and drink cartons, bottles and cans, and, of course, paper.
Check with your local authority what products can not be recycled in your area.

The only things that cannot be recycled in some manner are things that cease to exist after the first use. Things that are burned are usually gone for good. Even food that is eaten could be used as fertilizer and is in some parts of the world.
