Yangtze River is the longest river in China and Asia. It is 6,236 km. It originates from Tanggula Mountain in Qinghai - Tibetan Plateau. Yangtze River is the third longest river in the world, inferior to the Nile 7,088km and the Amazon 6,575 km. It feeds the great Chinese Nation, so it is considered to be the "Mother River" of China. The Yangtze River flows across 13 provinces, with many branches, such as Min River, Wu River, Xiang River, Han River, Huangpu River, etc, of which the Han River is the longest one. The Yangtze River area is a huge barn in China. The output of rice is up to 70% of the sum in China. It makes great contribution to the economic and agricultural development of China.

The Yarlung Tsangpo River is the longest river in Tibet. It is a trans-boundary river and one of the major rivers of Asia. Outside the boundary of China, its name is Brahmaputra.
