there are 3 evident disadvantages of patriotism.in fact,i think that it is something built on false beliefs and patriotism nowadays cannot be perceived as back to the 20th century.first of all,it instils in the people a feeling of superiority and this leads to racism,the daily issue you hear about in the news.wars are the outcomes and unwillingness to help other countries.secondly,the lust for progress when we stand as one patriostic nation is thousands time greater that in an unpatriosticnation,for eg. Germany,back in the 1940s.third point is the red tape that seals off the truth..as patriots we are willing to give up our lives for the government and well,wars in Iraq are the best examples.
