Sudan does not per se have "strange laws", the country is ruled according to Islamic (Sharia) law - which is common in a number of countries.
Some of the rules that non-Sharia countries may find "strange" relate to dress code, which are fairly conservative (although not as strictly implemented as in other Islamic countries). Women for example have to have their hair covered; must wear dresses (and not trousers), these must be ankle length and also cover the neck and wrists. Normally men are also frowned upon if they wear short trousers! Bear in mind that Sudan is on average one of the hottest countries in the world!
Unmarried men and women may not sit together without a chaperon.
Another law (again Sharia) which some may find strange relates to accidents and helping people who may have been injured. Under the law if you stop to assist someone in an accident and he/ she dies while you are trying to help them YOU are held responsible and charged accordingly! This is in total opposition to the "good Samaritan" laws of may other countries. To this end many people will stop and look at an accident, but very seldom offer any assistance.
One I particularly like relates to criminals. if you are convicted of a crime and sentenced to a prison sentence the government only provides you with a new home - how you get food and money in prison is entirely up to your family and friends!
Sudan's legal system is based on Islamic law.
The legislature of the Sudan has two houses that make laws. It has two chambers, the National Assembly consisting of 450 representatives and the Council of States consisting of 50 members.
