What are some of Utah's first known inhabitants?
The first human inhabitants of California were from Asia. They first found their way to what we now call Alaska, by crossing the Bering Straits. From Alaska, they made their way south. Some stopped in what is now California, while others continued as far as South America. This occurred thousands of years ago.
The inhabitants of Northern Africa are roughly divided into three groups. Those who live in the Mahgreb, the Nile Valley and the Sahara desert. In the Mahgreb it is believed that the Berbers were the earliest inhabitants and in the Nile Valley the Egyptians and Nubians. There is also some evidence of early Berbers in this area. In the Sahara it is believed to be the nomadic trans-Saharan people.
