They are different cells in a unique way as they carry out the different jobs from a normal cell. For example the red blood cells travel round the body producing oxygen and blood, you produce over 10,000 red blood cells a day!!

Many cells look different. This is because they have their own special jobs to do.

During their development, these cells have changed shape. They have differentiated.

Different cells do different jobs. They share the work of the whole organism. Such as the leaf palisade cells have lots of chloroplasts for photosynthesis and nerve cells carry messages around the body.
