River bifurcation is the name for where a river splits into several channels with islands in the middle. Distributaries are the product of river bifurcation which can form islands and channels.
Because it is divided into different islands and it is surrounded with waterthey are a group of closely knit islands.
The streams that contribute to a river system are called tributaries.
waters of the ocean that move in giant streams are called currents.
Streams of molten lava out of a volcano are called 'lava flows'.
They are called naiads.
Well there are MANY more than three but here are a few: * Canary Islands * Falkland Islands * Madeira IslandsHispanola (contains nations of Haiti and Dominican Republic), Cuba, and Aruba are 3 islands located in the Atlantic Ocean.Of course, there are other islands. When a river meets the sea it is called the River Mouth. Edit; It is called an estuary in most countries, but strictly an estuary has several channels entering the sea. The channels are of course separated by islands.
