Five freedoms (parts):
1. Religion - the government cannot create of have a state or country religion, but people are free to practice their own.
2. Free Speech - allows people to speak openly against the government
3. The freedom of the press - allows the expression of ideas through any medium; i.e. newspapers, signs, websites, radio and TV broadcasts, etc.
4. Assembly - allows people to form groups, march in protests, etc.
5. Petition - allows people to collect signatures to support or appeal any law, policy or action of the government
There are FOUR parts to the first amendment and they are as follows:
