1 - The Ordinary World - The main character lives in his regular life and the author must make the reader sympathise with the main character.

2 - The Call to Adventure - The hero notices something or feels someway that makes them want to leave the ordinary world.

3 - The Refusal of the Call - The hero declines the adventure or someone else may deny the adventure for them. Also someone may just express the danger of the adventure. This stage ends with the hero deciding that they do want to embark the adventure.

4 - Meeting with the Mentor - The hero embarks on the adventure and meets someone who either joins the hero on the journey or gives advise or equipment that the hero uses on the adventure.

5 - Crossing the Threshold - The hero enters the new world with or without the mentor.

6 - Tests, Allies and Enemies - The hero is in the new world and is tested. The hero meets some people in the new world; some allies and some enemies.

7 - The Approach - The hero is preparing for a challenge. The hero hits some setbacks but carries on.

8 - The Ordeal - The hero is tested and avoids death narrowly.

9 - The Reward - The hero is rewarded for completing the challenge but is warned that if they don't act responsibly, then they will have the reward removed from them.

10 - The Road Back - The hero returns to the Ordinary World and brings back memories.

11 - The Resurrection - The hero faces another, harder, challenge and has to use all of his training to succeed.

12 - The Return with the Elixir - The hero returns with the Mentor and continues his training. He uses his reward to better both of the worlds.

Hope this helps :)

There really aren't any "steps" to writing - you just sit your butt down and do it.

You might say you have to brainstorm first, then write the beginning, the middle and the end - and then editing and revision would be Step 5.

What do you write in a biography?

It depends on the type of biography you want to write. I’ve written three biographies, each with a different purpose: for my grandmother, an entrepreneur, and a YouTube celebrity. While each biography shared some similarities in structure such as outlining, where to begin, how to include an “aha moment,” etc., they also hinged on what the overall objective was in writing the life history. For example: My grandmother’s story was written to preserve her life in chronological order as part of some family history we were working on. The entrepreneur’s story was an account of overcoming adversity. It was meant to inspire her worldwide audience and illustrate the power of personal stories. The YouTuber’s story was an account of success at the near-loss of his integrity and his reasons for becoming a public figure. Knowing a few basic steps can help you get started quickly and reduce the frustration in writing a life story. I’ve outlined five steps to writing a biography in a blog post on Medium if you want to look that up: How to write a biography—or autobiography: Five steps to help you record your life story
