i did have same problem on my 95 aurora i have replace ignition coils sparkplugs and wires that solve my problem

Please help me with all these wires and pretty colors.
Ussually the speaker wires coming out of the back of the radio itself are green, purple, white, and grey.

Answer There should be at least 4 to wires. Four of those wires are for your speakers, the other two, one red is for power and the black on for a ground
section 12-55 in haynes repair manual has a diagram of all the radio wires and the colors.
check the wires, if they are crossed up you get bad ilding. my aurora was idling around 1500 rpm's, but after having all the spark plugs and boots replaced it went back to around 600...see if that helps

The radio colors in a 1995 Ford Escort include blue and red, blue and black, and red and black. Wires can also be violet, blue and orange, blue and white, red and blue, and white and green.
The Aurora has a VATS ignition and either the contacts in the ignition lock are bad, the wires from the lock to the computer are broken or the VATS chip in your key is dirty or the contacts in the ignition lock is dirty and not making connection with the chip in the key.
You can find the 2005 Ford Ranger radio CD player wire color codes in most service manuals. The wire colors are associated as follows; the positive wire is red, the black wire is the ground, the green and yellow wires are speaker wires, and the white wire is the auxiliary wire.
