What are the Side effects of Plavix?

The primary effect is a deep reduction in platelet action and clotting factors, which may exclude the patient from surgeries. Thus, side effects relate to bleeding discracias. Side effects may include: * Prolonged bruising * Black or tarry stools (indicative of a GI bleed). * Nosebleeds * Blood in urine * Stomach Ache * Petechiae * Vomiting with blood * "Coffee Grounds" in vomit. Patients on Plavix should not undergo surgery without informing the surgeon of this medication.
