Barnacles close their valves tightly to avoid drying when the tide goes out. However, when the tides are high, their shells are tough enough to withstand the constant pounding of the waves. Or they would attach them selves to rocks also they would attach themself to whales at some point.
Sessile , attached with help of antanae , hermaphrodite .

It has powerful pincers to grab prey tightly and pointed legs to walk on mud found at the

bottom of the sea. It also has gill chambers so that it can store water in it when in the sea

and use the oxygen from the water when on land.
