Televised, printed, and radio news have strong benefits in modern society. It allows the general public to stay informed and understanding of current issues in government, culture, and weather patterns. It is also a major method through which people learn of political occurrences that affect their daily life.

∙ 13y agoNews channels provide a constant stream of news on regional and global events.
Although they generally offer a good source of information on current affairs, they are often criticized for generating news out of non news worthy events. Filling a channel with content 24 hours each day is challenging and sometimes, editors are tempted to fill the time with stories that are not worth broadcasting or airing topics that in the past have been considered private rather than public.

∙ 10y agoThe biggest advantage of television news channels is that they place the news in the hands of the public quickly, easily, and in easily digestable methods. The biggest disadvantages are perceptible network bias, which can affect the accurate interpretation of the news, and inaccuracies that occur as television stations attempt to report the news quickly and as it breaks.

The advantages of using television for education are the TVs keep students' attention better than books, and it is more fun than books. The disadvantages are that the students cannot interact with a TV, they do not know where the information came from, and they cannot always re-watch shows for missed information.
