- Less moving parts = less likely to break
- Easier to maintain, does not require cleaning
- Higher sensitivity
- Works on a wider variety of surfaces
- May have problems on glossy surfaces such as glass
- Higher sensitivity
- Many optical mouses have lights in them, which some people find annoying.
The mechanical mouse depends on moving parts to move the pointer on the computer and a clean smooth surface. Over time they get worn and/or dirty impacting functionality of the mouse. The optical mouse is much more flexible. There are no moving parts. You can even put the mouse on your leg, table, carpet, paper without a mouse pad to use it. It uses the texture to detect motion. It will not work on a clear glass table unless there's something under it with some kind of print or texture.
Optical mouse is much more flexible than mechanical mouse.
There are no moving parts
- No cord
- Requires batteries
- Limited range / possible signal interference
Optical mouses often perform poorly on polished or glass surfaces.
Optical mouses often have bright lights embedded in them which some users may find annoying.
Traditional mice suck. They get dirty faster than optical mice and are harder to clean. They are not fun to use.
An optical mouse is great! :D An optical mouse is great! :D
The laser of the optical mouse may bounce off certain colors and shapes on a mouse pad. There are no disadvantages to a optical mouse. The optical mouse just works better and smoother than the ball mouse, and you never have to worry about the ball getting dirty or hanging. I would suggest getting an optical mouse and throwing the ball mouse away.
advantages and disadvantages of ring mouse
advantages:- high speed ,high parallelism, less consumption, less heat released, less noise, less wear and many more disadvantages:- optical components are expensive, optical components are not miniaturized ,problem of exact manufacturing ,incompatibilty
Optical mouse: Most desktop computer users today have some type of optical mouse, which uses devices that emit and sense light to detect the mouse's movement.
I dont own an optical mouse
A: you need not to muve your hand around a table compared to a mouse
I would like to describe remaining advantages and disadvantages briefly. Mechanical Mouse:Disadvantages * performance and tracking ability depend on the surface the mouse moves * need mouse pad or any special surface * the cursor movement looks not smoother to the end user * When you use mechanical mouse, you need to clean the dirt or debris that comes inside the mouse so that the ball and rollers are able to move freely when the mouse moves * Mechanical mouse are heavy generally. Advantage * Low cost Optical Mouse:Disadvantages * Much expensive than Mechanical mouse * Mouse code is required. Physically should be connected to the computer Advantages * Optical mice usually function trouble-free for years * Early optical mice required a special mouse pad, but today's devices can be rolled over traditional pads like a mechanical mouse as well as over almost any surface other than glass or mirror * precision of optical mice is also much greater than mechanical mice * There are no moving parts to break or otherwise cause problems * Weightless Wireless MouseDisadvantage * Much expensive * battery required for some designs Advantage * Cordless mice are more and more popular because they can be used without physically being connected to the computer, which gives a sensation of freedom. * free up desk space and elimination of mouse cord * not need special surface
Advantages: - Works on glossy surfaces such as glass Disadvantages: - May not work on overly soft or non-uniform surfaces - Requires frequent cleaning
a mouse and a keyboard are the same .initially i used to prefer a mouse alone but it had no disadvantages and neither did the keyboard
