There are significant advantages in both ground-based telescopes and space telescopes.

Some of the advantages of terrestrial telescopes are:

  1. When you need to make repairs or modifications, you can drive there in a truck tomorrow, instead of hoping for a space shuttle mission to be scheduled in three years. Especially now that the Shuttles are being decommissioned, with no replacements planned.
  2. You can run as many power cables as you like to the telescope; you don't have to depend on solar power.
  3. You aren't limited in the size or weight of the telescope to the dimensions and capacity of a Shuttle.

The advantage of the space based telescopes is that treir view is not disturbed by the clouds or air currents in the atmosphere. But one of its drawbacks are that damages in it can't be repaired due to fact that they are in space.

because earth based telescopes have to gather light that has traveled through the atmosphere which can distort and blur the light. space based telescopes do not have to see through the atmosphere, so the the light they gather is less distorted allowing astronomers to see farther into space and get better pictures.

What makes the hubble telescope different from all the land based telescope you are?

The Hubble telescope is in space so it doesn't have a problem with atmospheric distortion. Therefore The Hubble telescope get's a much clearer picture than any normal land telescope which gets a less clear a picture because of water vapour and diffraction of light.

What are some advantages and disadvantages of rtgs and neft system in India?

There are a few advantages and disadvantages of the RTGS system. One of disadvantages are the gross system been at risk of gridlock from not having enough money. The advantage is having the savings in money to support any payment transaction.

What are some telescopes names?

The two types are refractor and reflector. In a refracting telescope, the light comes in THROUGH a magnifying LENS where it is REFRACTED (bent) to focus the light into an objective lens. In a reflecting telescope, the light BOUNCES OFF a curved magnifying MIRROR , and then reflected again on a secondary mirror to direct the light into an objective lens. Among the advantages of a reflecting telescope are that in a refracting lens, the thickness of the lens can absorb some of the light, while a mirror reflects all of the light. Additionally, a reflecting telescope can "fold" the telescope into a much more compact instrument, which is essential with especially large devices. A large refracting telescope would be enormously heavy and cumbersome.

What are the disadvantages of person centered therapy?

There are numerous disadvantages to using person-centered therapy. Generally, this type of therapy only works well with educated patients. Another problem is that therapists don't collect enough information to help the patient based on the theory that the patient knows best.

Can the Hubble Space Telescope detect radio waves?

I do not believe that the Hubble is equipped for radio astronomy. Certainly it can "detect" radio waves; it is remote-controlled by radio. But most radio astronomy is done with earth-based dish antennas.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a ground based radio telescope?

disadvantages:Refractor telescopes suffer from chromatic aberration, a color distortion that produces a rainbow of colors around an image. Chromatic Aberration can ruin an images appearance. The glass lens is easily broken. Often, the glass lens in a refractor telescope is not perfect and as a result of this imperfection, large refractor telescopes (over 40 inches) do not work properly.

Is the Hubble telescope better than a ground-based telescope?

yes, because it doesnt have the atmosphere in the way, the atmosphere distorts the images taken by ground based-telescopes because of the refraction of light. The hubbles telescope can provide clearer and more accurate images without this barrier in the way.
