There are no advantages to using polyurethane paint, the best paint to use is latex, because of it's ease of use, clean-up and durability I've used polyurethanes on concrete floors in a high traffic area, but I agree they're not appropriate for houses.

If you are using polyurathane paint, using a general purpose lacquer thinner is not recommended, other than for cleaning equipment afterwards. For application, use only the correct thinners, of the same brand as the paint.

adavantages include these among others: 1 synthesised polyurethane is unalloyed and homogeneous 2 raw materials can be analysed and modified before use but in recycled polyurethane, it is a reconstituted form of polyurethane where the constituents (formulation) of the major raw materials can not be easily determined 3 ease of production (one shot using automated machines) but the recycled polyurehanes involes sorting, grinding, bonding and some other complicated methods of processing 4 synthesised polyurethane has second hand value as it can be recycled but in recycled polyurethane, this may not be economically viable. You probably can but it would have to be thinned down as the orifice for auto paint guns is a lot smaller than for house paint. Would be better to purchase a spryer for this readon. If you are intent on using a automotve paint gun the needle assembly would have to be as large as you can get and the paint still would have to be thinned to get it to flow

No, polyurethane is meant to be applied to a porous surface. Pergo is laminated and has none. Using the product will cause permanent damage.

You'll need: Paint thinner, plastic bowl, and a old towel. Fill the plastic bowl halfway with paint thinner. The paint thinner need only be applied to the bristles, or foam section, of the brush in order to remove the polyurethane. Dip the brush tip into the bowl of paint thinner. Cover the entire brush end with paint thinner. Add more paint thinner to the bowl if needed. Leave the brush in the bowl of paint thinner for 15 to 20 minutes. Allow the paint thinner to fully penetrate the polyurethane within the brush . Remove the brush from the bowl and rinse it with Luke warm water. Do not use cold water as this can cause the brush to harden . Avoid using extremely hot water as well as this can cause the glue securing the bristles to loosen and the bristles will fall out . Pat the brush with a old towel. Hope this helps.

i think you may want to reword your question. is there rust already, and are you just painting over the rust? in this case, paint will not stop rust. eventually, the rust will bubble up the nice looking paint, and it'll continue to rust through. If there isn't rust yet,.. two advantages to using paint (as opposed to using oil or other processes) to PREVENT rust: 1) relatively cheap and available (it can be as simple as rattle can or as fancy as a professional paint job) 2) you can get any color you want (using other means to stop rust just isn't as purdy) :]

Hi, polyurethane can be recycled in two major ways: 1, by rebonding the polyurethane crumbs using hydraulic press and 2, by converting the poyurethane into powder and use it as filler in new production. there are other technical things to know about polyurethane recycling but this answers the question. Working with the amazing synthetic material known as polyurethane can be a fun and easy way to rejuvenate the appearance of old and worn-down furniture. Polyurethane is typically applied using a paint brush and often goes onto wood smoothly and easily. In some instances, too much polyurethane will be laid down in one particular region, creating drips or high spots. Do not concern yourself with fixing the blemishes or slight inconsistencies until after the product has dried. At that point, you will be able to slice off the excess polyurethane quickly and easily using the edge of a razor blade.

Use vegetable oil or peanut butter to soften the paint and then wash it off. Using paint thinner on skin is problematic for your health. After this, plan to use plastic gloves when painting--uncomfortable, but so easily cleaned up! Answer It depends if the paint is dry or not,When wet, you'll need at least general purpose paint thinner, then hot soapy water If dry, you'll need a very strong paint thinner( Polyurethane thinner) then hot soapy water. If really dry, take one kitchen metal scouring pad with some soap n scrub it off, a little painful but it does the trick
