The benefits of being a computer networker include being able to work on your own network, work in advanced environments, and earn a respectable living. Those who are knowledgeable of networking often work for large companies which require constant network maintenance.

All the computers on that netowrk have access to the same resources. Like shared files and the entire network can get onto the internet using one connection instead of having to have a internet account/connection for each and every computer. Another benifit is being able to assign rights to users. Say you have accounting and HR, but only accounting should have access to accounting's files and HR should be the only ones to have access to HR's files. You can assign them drives on the network that are hidden to everyone but those who have the "rights" to those drives/folders.

If you have several computer systems such as: Mobile phones, gaming consoles, computers.. etc, then having it networked means that all the devices will share the same internet, as you will most likely have only one ISP it is a good option as all the devices will be linked to the same location, if you have more than one ISP, it may not be the best option to have computers networked.
