I like Bare Knuckle War Pig ceramics, Seymour Duncan Blackouts and the odd EMG like the passive HZs that I had on my LTD M200 (super strat)
but keep in mind the type of wood your Guitars pickups made out of will make or break the sound of the pickup, say if you put a evolution (dimarzio) pickup inside a Dean ML thats all mahogany it wont be what its supposed to sound like.
the best piece of advice i can give you is either see what your favorite guitarist is using but avoid signature pickups or Google "whats the best pickup for a alder bodied guitar metal".

∙ 12y agoDon't let anyone fool you. Guitarheads Megametal (or active) pickups. Get them.
They're cheap cheap cheap cheap but sound amazing. There are YouTube videos for them as well. Check them out, really heavy.
As for a pedal, I'd recommend the EHX metal muff. Best distortion pedal there is.

∙ 13y agoThat would depend upon the type of music you want to play, and the sound you want to get out of the instrument. Gibson '57's, PAF's(patent applied for), and the like are good for clean sounds. DiMarzio's are good for distortion, and EMG has different pickups designed for different sounds. I personally like EMG.

Difference between a acoustic electric guitar and an electric guitar?
