Activities like:

• Burning fossil fuels, coal, oil and natural gas for transport and electricity generation
• Cutting down trees, rainforests and clearing vegetation.

2. The world's huge population has a demand for electricity and red meat, to put it simply. We have to burn more and more fossil fuel to generate the electricity, and we are breeding more and more cattle to feed the world.
3. Forests, which absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, are being cut down in many places, often for cattle pasture.

This means the climate will change, becoming warmer and drier in many areas, and wetter in others. Droughts will destroy croplands and millions of people will have to move to cooler countries. Scientists now suggest that extreme weather events will become more common.

1. Burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). This releases age-old carbon dioxide that has been hidden away for millions of years. The carbon cycle is unable to remove this extra CO2 from the atmosphere and so this greenhouse gas is warming the planet.
2. Man has cut down millions of trees all over the planet and is still doing so. Trees act as a carbon sink. That is, they take carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, store the carbon and release the oxygen.
3. Methane from agriculture and melting tundra plays a role.

The main cause of climate change is the normal cycles the planet sees every 100K years. Our orbit changes depending on where the major planets of our solar system. The entire set of planets only sits on one side of the sun every 100K years. We are in that portion of our cycle. This causes the planet to have very wide variances in distance to our sun.
