It has congress and the senate in it together they pass laws. A bill comes to congress and congress then passes it on to the senate the senate can deny the bill if less majority rules in the senate it is gone if more than it goes on to the presedent which is the exeutive branch he can veto the bill or turn it into a law
The Legislative branch are made up with 2 houses. They are the House of representative and the Senate. House of Representative are base on the states population. According to history, House of Representative are base on population. Since there are states that have slaves, the congress added the 3/5 law.(forgot the name) The 3/5 law means all 3/5 slaves are counted to the House of Representative. Later on, US limited the House of Representative to 435 seats.
And for the Senate, I don't know much about it. All i know is both House of Representative and the Senate have equal power.
The Legislative Branch also have the power to pass law. :D
The legislative branch creates laws. For example, Congress introduces legislation. The bill goes into committee. If it passes committee, the bill becomes voted on. If it passes, then it goes to the other house. If it doesn't pass, it goes back into committee, and usually dies. If both houses pass the bill, then it goes to the president to sign it.
Congress can, with a 2/3 majority vote, override a veto, forcing the bill into law. They can also impeach Executive and Judicial officials.
This is the same for all three levels of government: Local, State, and Federal.
1. The federal government of the US has the legislative, executive and judicial branches. The Legislative branch includes the Congress consisting of two chambers - the Senate and the House of Representatives.
2. Each member of Congress is elected by the people living in his or her state. The House of Representatives has 435 seats and the number of seats from a particular state is based on the state's population. The Senate has 100 seats with two members from each state. Senators are elected for six-year terms and members of the House of Representatives are elected for two-year terms.
3. Per Article I of the Constitution, the legislative branch is charged with making laws for the United States.
4. The library of Congress, the Government Printing Office, Congressional Budget Office, and the General Accounting Office provide support services for the Congress. These agencies are also considered part of the legislative branch.
5.In Article 1 Section 8 Part 18 it explains that the Legislative branch can do whatever it deems necessary and proper
