I can't answer your question but maybe I can give you a helpful lead to the answer. I have seen this type of faux finish done on the TV show "Trading Spaces" by Hildy. I am also looking for the how-to on the tortoise shell finish. Good luck! Tortoise shell finishes are beautiful and affective. Go to Barnes and Noble. They have an abunance of books on faux finishing. It isn't the easiest task but if you're up for it you'll be so proud of yourself. Just remember patience is a big factor. There are drying times you have to abide by (otherwise your project could be ruined). As you're working on your project, if you feel like you're losing it, walk away for awhile...have a cup of joe. When you come back to it, you'll have, what we in the industry call, "new eyes". Good luck and have fun!
A tortoise and a hare have a race. The tortoise is slow and the hare is fast, but the tortoise still wins because the hare, thinking the tortoise is too slow to catch up, takes a nap before crossing the finish line.
The hare is fast, but it lost the game. The tortoise is slow, but it wins, because when the hare is sleeping, the tortoise stays quiet and it go to the finish line.
No. The correct form is "Who has finished?"
The tortoise and the hare is basically about a hare racing a tortoise. The hare was foolish because the hare was much faster than the tortoise. So the hare took a rest. Then the tortoise passed by and took first place. The hare finally woke up. When he came to the finish line, the was Mr.Tortoise. This teaches us to never underestimate someone because of what they seem
Did you manage to finish your sentence? The correct usage would be "did you manage to finish?"
The Hare stopped under a tree to take a nap and when he woke up the Tortoise was still a long ways away and decided to go back to sleep and when he woke again the Tortoise was nearly to the finish line and the Hare raced after him but the Tortoise finished the race and beat the Hare.

because the hare screwed around and fell asleep and by the time he woke up the hare was crossing the finish line.
The hare had so much arrogance and belief in himself that he would win because of his speed over the tortoise, that he thought he could take a nap. In taking a nap, the tortoise surpasses the hare and almost reaches the finish line. The hare tries his fastest to catch up, but it was too late..

In Aesop's Fable, "The Tortoise and the Hare", the moral of the story is that a slow and steady pace wins the race instead of a fast, interrupted, and erratic method. It is taught in the story by the example of a fast hare and a slow tortoise agreeing to race to the finish line but the hare, believing there is no contest since he is so quick, is over confident and allows himself to be distracted and sidetracked by things like food and naps while the tortoise just keeps moving along focused in the direction of the finish line without interruption. In the end, the hare, full from snacking and tired from the antics along the way to the finish line, falls asleep and doesn't awake in time to race to the finish line before the tortoise on his straight and steady but slow pace gets there first and wins the race much to everyone's surprise and the hare's chagrin. For more examples, see the links section below.
