∙ 13y agoApps like adobe flash player and iTunes are downloadable. i would recommend getting flash, because most computer need that for almost anything. hope this helps!!!!
If you are looking to start from scratch, make sure that you have the basic things we normally take for granted -- such as the current version of java, a web browser and some basic anti virus and / or anti spyware. However remember that as you download and install new apps, it should prompt you to install things as needed.

3. Media creation. That would include making movies and editing music.
4. Research. While that can include general computing tasks, it could also include heavy research activities such as using specialized automated software non-stop to crunch numbers, do formulas, perform real-time measurements, and create massive amounts of data.
5. Servers. These are computers which host the web and other network traffic for other computers.
6. Specialized uses. Ordinary PCs can control industrial equipment or handle retail sales with the right software and peripherals.
7. Theatrics. Computers can control set lighting and pyrotechnic displays, perform heavy animation and image rendering and more.
8. Surveillance and forensics. Computers can be used for store security. More sophisticated systems can be used for law-enforcement, facial recognition, and crowd control (like helping to keep banned customers and cheaters out of casinos). Computers can constantly crawl the web to look for crime and dangerous conditions.
9. Public health and safety. Existing infrastructure like search engines can be used to alert officials to possible epidemics. Google and probably other sites keep statistics and limited Demographics on searches performed. So if many people in several cities in a particular state are searching the same health symptoms, the CDC and other agencies could start to investigate and get involved before whatever is going around gets too much worse. The feds analyze other types of searches too, such as patterns of terms related to terror activities.
