Network can be identified by their topology , architecture , size which will be defines as the following :

1) Topology :

A) star network : all devices are connected by a central device

B)buss network : all devices are connected by a central cable

C) ring network : all devices are connected in closed loop

D) mech network : multiple connection between devices

E) combination network : some networks are combined with different topologies such as network

2) architecture :

A) client-server networks : client is a PC. or other device on the network that request and utilize network recources . Server is a computer dedicated to process client requests

B) peer-to-peer networks : all computers on the network at the same level , a server is not used

3) size :

A) WAN = Wide Area Network - A network that covers a broad area, either locally or nationally. Such networks are usually used by companies for communication between offices etc.

B)LAN = Local Area Network - A network that covers a small local area like a single building,an airport or a few rooms. More specifically, a single group of computers like schools' computer.
