Asked in Slavery
How many people were killed during the middle passage?
It is estimated that 100,000,000 Africans descendants were killed during the middle passage. European Christians, Jews, and Africans were apart of the Middle Passage, which was known as the Black Holocaust, but not one African nor his or her descendant has ever received reparations. Even the Jews who were a major part of the Middle Passage never admitted to playing a major role in slavery. Many more Africans were killed during the Black Holocaust than the Jewish Holocaust, but racism and those insideously involved in the Black Holocaust is the reason African descendants never received reparations and an apology. Those who say "never again" once did and still do to a people to this day. Racism lives!

Asked in Native American History
Why did the population of native American decline so dramatically?
Many of native Americans were killed by the diseases brought by Europeans. For 1000s of years, Eurasians and Africans were exposed to many dangerous diseases through contact with domesticated animals, such as pigs and chickens. Therefore, their populations built up immunities to these diseases. The natives of the Americas had few domesticated animals and so their populations were not familiar with - and hence had built up natural immunities - to diseases such as smallpox and many strains of the flu.

Why did the French fail at building the Panama canal?
Explain Why using native Americans as slaves did not work?
Because the diseases brought to America from Europe killed over half of the Native American slaves. Therefore they did not have enough slaves to work on every plantation. That's when the African Slave Trade and the Middle Passage came into act to use Africans as slaves because they were already immune to the diseases.
