For most eye cancers, there are no early signs. They would need to be discovered by an ophthalmic exam in their early stages. The exception would be a superficial surface eye cancer, like the elevated type that originates from the very outer coating of the eye. Again, your ophthalmologist's examination is the best way to distinguish the lesion from one that is not cancerous.
