For one to qualify for becoming a home health aide, you'd need to be detail oriented, have Interpersonal skills, must be cheerful, compassionate, and emotionally stable, have physical stamina, and time management skills. You also need to be certified. In order to be certified, you must take a training course and pass an evaluation. You will be certified by the National Association for Home Care & Hospice.

Must be a RN tested by the state's nursing board of where you are practicing. Schools are watched by the state board of nursing (accredited). You must also keep up on your CEUs. Minimal RN is an Associate degree time frame 2-3 years of school. BSN is 4-5 years of schooling. As for the educational courses offered by a school is Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Chemistry and a whole slew of nursing classes plusa number of General Ed classes and that is just to name a few. These nursing requirements MUST be met no matter what field you are going into (home health, industrial, federal, nursing homes, hospitals, insurance companies or the military). Both myself and my better half (Sherry) are RNs. Hope that helps. Steve
