Carbon dioxide is the gas that is expelled from the body when a person exhales. Exposure to too much carbon dioxide can result in headaches, deeper breathing, unconsciousness, and death. However, it is very unlikely that a person would experience carbon dioxide poisoning.

The organs and cells in your body give off carbon dioxide into your blood as exhaust. The problem is when you inhale high amounts of carbon dioxide in the air so that your blood is overloaded with carbon dioxide.

At this point your body temperature would go down and you would die of hypothermia, if not treated immediatly.

Too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is causing global warming and climate change. We do this by the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity, which releases carbon dioxide (CO2).
