THE EFFECTS OF RAINFOREST'S BEING CUT DOWN ARE, materials are being lost to build houses , valuable medicines are being lost (these come from plants.), animals are becoming extinct, animals homes are being lost and we will run out ofoxygen.
You've posted this under 'Gorillas' so initially I thought of the rainforests in Indonesia being cut down to make way for Palm Oil factories. Palm Oil is in just about everything. Arnotts biscuits, dove hair products etc. In five years, there will be NO RAINFORESTS LEFT AT ALL in Indonesia. If this wasn't bad enough, the loggers are not only destroying the orangutans habitat, but they are killing the orangutans for the fun of it. At school we had a presentation in assembly to show us how bad its getting. It showed pictures of orangutans who had been decapitated, left for dead, even ones who had been smothered in petrol and SET ON FIRE. One thing you can do to help is stop using palm oil. Orangutans are our closest species and have roughly the same IQ as a five-year-old. Hope this answered your Q.

rainforest's produce most of the earths oxygen so if they where gone humans and most animals would die a very painful death by suffocation over a week or so
Trees plants and animals die. also less oxygen
The earth would run out of oxygen
animal lose their home
