Thirteen stripes represent the first 13 states of the United States of America. Many people also believe they represent the 13 for the original colonies. But, in 1795 our flag had 15 stripes and 15 stars for the 15 states of the USA. Then in 1818 Congress reverted back to the original 13 stripes for the first 13 states adding stars for each new state.
First, finish all 15 courses. Then get the secret stars in the castles, and all the red coins/switch stars in the bowser levels(the bowser levels stars are counted in the castle secret stars, making it only 30 castle secret stars). The last thing is to get 100 coins in each course, to get an extra star.
How is it possible for someone to have collected 8 stars from each level and 26 castle secret stars but only have 137 stars in total?
Astronomers use the term magnitude to compare the brightnesses of stars. Really bright stars are 1st magnitude while the faintest we can see with the naked eye are about magnitude 6. A 12 inch telescope can see down to about magnitude 14 or 15. Hubble Space Telescope can see down to about magnitude 27.
