there isn't much difference but basically pretty is not quite beautiful but really close. if someone is beautiful then their features are astonishing and amazing to look at (in a good way) we as pretty is features they are good to look at and may stand out but don't stand out so much. sorry if this doesn't make sense it's just my answer : )
