What is the height requirement for Space Mountain at Walt Disney World?

Disney has different restrictions on different rides, based more on averages than any physical reasons. They probably err on the side of caution, if anything. The notes are mine, based on observations.

According to Disney, you must be at least 40 inches tall to ride Soarin' and Test Track. You must be at least 44 inches tall to ride Mission: Space. All of these are simulators that actually make a lot of adults sick. Dramine is a wonderful thing.

Remember all these measurements include heels and hairdos. If half an inch is going to start a war between siblings, some parents have resorted to heel lifts.

I have seen small children who loved the Tower of Terror and otherwise fearless Teens who refused to ride it. Some people think Mission: Space is the roughest ride at Walt Disney World, others think it's the relatively tame Goofy's Barnstormer roller coaster.

At the Animal Kingdom, you have to 38 inches for the Kali River Rapids, to keep from going over the side. The minimum height for the Dinosaur is 40 inches, and the minimum for the Primeval Whirl is 48 inches.

Keep in mind that there are other rides nearby suitable for all guests. In fact, the little kids might actually have more fun on their ride than the big kids. Two cell phones are valuable to reunite the groups. You are the one who knows your kid best.

It depends on the ride, but the highest height restriction I have ever seen on any Disney ride is 48 inches (Rock n' Roller Coaster at Disney World and California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure both have that height restriction). Most of the other ones allow smaller kids to ride, with height restrictions usually being somewhere between 36 and 42 inches.
