When looking at the effects of technological advancement, even though there are a lot of good effects to be named, we must not forget the side effects and risks involved with technological advancement. Making a lot of processes digital does not only increase the comfort of the people using it (for example, shopping from home and paying through a digital funds transfer), it also increases the risk of being spammed or scammed.

The same goes for a lot of other products and services that have become digital. Making online appointments, paying for goods, claiming medical costs from your insurance; it's unsure who you have 'talked to' and you won't get any feedback whether or not the form got through. A standard reply will be sent out, but doesn't always cover the load as it can be sent out by the system on mistake.

Because of the new technology in entertainment, vehicles and home equipment people nowadays don't exercise as much as they did before the technology kicked in. People are entertained by their computers and Cd's. The watch concerts on DVD or televisions and get out less.

Technology can provide us with more comfort and ease, but it can make us very lazy as well.
