The four quadrants indicate regions of your abdomen, not the entire torso, and not the back. The organs in the right upper quadrant (RUQ) are the liver, gall bladder, part of the pancreas, and the first section of the small intestine (the duodenum).
The upper-right quadrant of a planar x-y graph space represents all points such that x and y are both positive values. This rectangular coordinate system, also known as the Cartesian coordinate system, is defined by two perpendicular axes. By convention, the horizontal axis is the x axis (positive values to the right, negatives to the left), and the vertical is the y (positive up and negative down). The quadrants are numbered counterclockwise from the upper right.
The liver and gallbladder
The liver is in the right upper quadrant.
Small intestine, colon, right ovary, most notable occupant of the RLQ is the appendix.
Right upper quadrant - liver: right lobe, gallbladder, stomach: pylorus, doudenum: part 1-3, pancreas: head, right suprarenal gland, right kidney, right colic (hepatic) flexure, ascending colon: superior part, transverse colon: right half Left upper quadrant - liver: left lobe, spleen, stomach, jejunum and proximal ileum, pancreas: body and tail, left kidney, left suprarenal gland, left colic (splenic) flexure, transverse colon: left half, descending colon: superior half Right lower quadrant - cecum, vermiform appendix, most of ileum, ascending colon: inferior part, right ovary, right uterine tube, right ureter: abdominal part, right spermatic cord: abdominal part, uterus (if enlarged), urinary bladder (if very full) Left lower quadrant - sigmoid colon, descending colon: inferior part, left ovary, left uterine tube, left ureter: abdominal part, left spermatic cord: abdomianl part, uterus (if enlarged), urinary bladder (if very full)
right iliac
The left upper quadrant is the location of the left portion of the liver, the larger portion of the stomach, the pancreas, left kidney, spleen, portions of the transverse and descending colon, and parts of the small intestine. The upper light contains the rest of the stomach.
pie is awesomei like pie
liver and gallbladder
large interstines
mostly the upper right partly in the upper left
Both are located in the upper left quadrant. (B)
The gall bladder is in the right upper quadrant of the body..
Left Hypochondriac quadrant
the right upper quadrant
upper right quadrant
upper right quadrant
Using the median plane (vertically) and the transumbilical plane (horizontally), the abdomen is divided into four quadrants:Right Upper Quadrant (RUQ)Left Upper Quadrant (LUQ)Right Lower Quandrant (RLQ)Left Lower Quandrant (LLQ)Very briefly, some of the major structures/organs contained within each are:RUQ = most of the liver, gallbladderLUQ = spleen, most of the stomachRLQ = appendixLLQ = sigmoid colon
Most of the liver is in Right Upper Quadrant, but a small part is in Left Upper Quadrant.
