I have the same problem, my pool shop suggested getting the acid level to normal (around pH 6-6.5) ensuring stabiliser levels were normal and adding granulated chlorine, I added the choline and it went cloudy (don't add liquid chlorine at this stage) leave it for a week then go back to normal chlorine dosing, the combination of these steps should remove the black spot, mine went to a lighter shade of green but is still there, I may have to repeat the first 2 steps as my pool was out of balance.
Did you try anything else that may have worked?

That is probably black algae. You need to go to a pool store and have them advise the proper chemical and use of that chemical for your pool. It may take a granular product for white plaster pools. Color tinted pools are another matter and you should use a liquid black algae treatment. And if you have a vinyl liner pool I just do not see how in the world you could get black algae. Black algae comes from not maintaining proper chlorine levels and adjusting the pH.
well the balc algae is one the hardest algae to remove.the root can even goes inside the stracture ,i mean through the concrete.the best thing in my opinion ins giving it a shock till 15 ppm and keep using the black algae romover and maintaining the chlorine to almost 7 ppm for a month to see the result.
u may not be able to remove but worht the try
Floating black dots in Swimming Pools are black or spot algae. They first appear as small specks on the pool's surface and then multiply rapidly.
Black algae, Very hard to get rid of the sooner you start the better.
It depends one what pool you go to. There are some swimming pools that have lines on the bottom and there are others that do not

The black precipitate usually sink to the bottom which the reaction took place in. The reaction takes place at the bottom because it only occurs under anaerobic conditions, and it does not sink to the bottom as it only occurs at the bottom, not around oxygen at the top of the tube.
common dogwood
I would guess elder bugs.

Cobalting is what the black spots on fiberglass pools is called. This occurs when the gel finish on the pool begins to break down. You can remove the old gel coating and apply a new one.
which is a better reflector of light-a black surface or a white surface
