What are the lyrics?

Lyrics are the part of a song that the singer sings. They are the words that accompany the musical scores for the particular song. For example, in the song Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds by The Beatles, the lyrics go:
Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she's gone.

Those lyrics accompany the musical instruments to form the song.
Some songs may not have any lyrics, and if so, that song is instrumental, but most recent songs that you hear on the radio have lyrics.
