Aluminum has opened up new dimensions in the last decades. Countless objects that simplify as well as increase the quality of our daily life are partly made of aluminum, (e.g.) CDs, cars, refrigerators, kitchenware, electric power lines, packaging for food and medicine, computers, furniture and aircrafts. We use aluminum every day, even though we don't necessarily pay too much attention to it and often don't even realize it.

What are five uses of aluminum?

Light and corrosion - resistant alloys.Soda-cansBaking foilAerospace is also a major user. The fuselages of most passenger and other aircraft are made from aluminum alloys. In the UK it is also used in power transmission in place of copper.Certain cooking pots and pans are also fabricated from aluminum.

What is aluminum used to make?

Aluminum is used everywhere!Aluminum is used in all kinds of items that we all use every day. Just a few are:Motors for carsFrames on bikesBrake handlesToolscatsdogsConductors for electricitySolid fuel stabilizerAnti-persperant in deoderantAluminum is also used to make planes because it is stronger than steel pound for poundThe possibilities are endless....Almost anything can be made from aluminum. Aluminum uses ranges from engine of a car to the body of a plane. It is even used as fuel in some missiles.

What are the chemical properties of aluminum?

Well aluminum is used as you probably know to build planes. It has a low density, it's melting point is about 660 degrees celsius and it's boiling point is 2467 degrees celsius. It's atomic number is 13 and it's atomic mass is around 27 g. It has a resistance to oxidation and is extracted from it's ore by electrolysis. This method is very expensive as it uses lots of electricity but is the best way to extract it. Aluminum is quite reactive which is why it uses electrolysis.
