Nevada was only made a state during the Civil War(the phrase Battle-Born) is the state motto, It has always been sparsely populated hence used for weapons testing sites, including nuclear, and so on. I do not know of any prominent political leader from Nevada currently or recently. it"s a safe bet, No pun intended, there weren"t any Presidents from Nevada, at least not yet.
