What are the political divisions of the UK?

Wales has four main political parties- Welsh Labour, which is Centre Left and is in favour of further devolved Government without going so far as independence, Plaid Cymru, which is Socialist and wishes to seeWales become independent from England, the Welsh Conservatives, who are Right Wing and wish to maintain Wales's position pretty much as it is, and the Welsh Liberal Democrats, who's position is very similar to that of Welsh Labour. All but the more right-wing Conservatives wish to see Wales remain part of the EU. There is also a minority party called UKIP, which stands for the United Kingdom Independence Party- this began in England and is a far-right British Nationalist party, which wants to abolish Welsh devolution, re-strengthen it's ties to England and is anti-European Union. There are also two or three Assembly members who sit as Independents.

At present Labour is the Governing body in the Welsh Assembly, with the Conservatives the official Opposition and Plaid Cymru coming a close third, lagging behind the Conservatives by only one vote.
