the insecurities of an adolescent is just basically how we be ourselves and learn that people will be okay with it. We mostly put up a mask because we're afraid that people will laugh at us. We don't open up to anybody because we're afraid that the information will be passed on. We have self-doubt. We don't like it when people laugh at us and therefor we hide ourselves. We are unsure where we belong and how to be ourselves.

∙ 9y agoHigh teen pregnancy rates are leading to a new generation who will be raised in poverty.Economic mobility and higher levels of education become much harder to achieve, if ever, and the children of these teens who do not attend college are less likely to attend college themselves.. The economic downturn in general and the high foreclosure rates along with high unemployment have made parents less able to support their teens. It also makes it harder for teens to find suitable jobs.

Computer gaming, limited interests outside of their highschool worlds seems to carry forth in the work and education they pursue. It is easy to extend childhood to the mid-twenties without having tangible skills in the workplace. Even in an economic downturn, there are plenty of teenagers finding their way to a solid lifestyle. So, what is holding the others back? I worry that it is themselves in their failure to adapt and persevere so that survival is possible when no one else is footing the bill.
Most problems faced my teenagers are faced by many other members of society-with some individual ones.
For example, many teenagers are plagued by the horribly unsightly facial growth known as acne. Just as they start to develop feelings for others and want to look their best, BAM mother nature plays a blinder, making them look like a dot-to-dot puzzle book.
The pressure to achieve is another problem faced by this section of society-as most teenagers are undergoing exams every year, with endless pressure from parents, there's no wonder they're a bit growchy/temperamental.

∙ 5y agoBelieve me, from memory (I'm a 72 male), the challenges on an adolescent (male or female) is huge. Both male and female are facing incredible changes during puberty. It is not only your body that is changing, but also your mind, the way you think, the way you act, the way that you once looked up to your mother or father, almost as gods. In adolescence, they suddenly appear as simply annoying, and they don't know what they are talking about! This is normal. No matter, it usually doesn't go on for ever. One day your son will ask if you can help him fix his battered old (cheap) car. Or your daughter will ask her mother (sorry for the stereotyping!) how to bake a cake for her new boyfriend.
