What are the pros and cons of GMOs?

This is a somewhat complicated topic so I cannot give a compete answer, but in general, people do not agree about whether it is really possible to improve on nature. Genetic engineering allows us to give plants and animals specific traits that we want them to have, such as giving a plant resistance to a particular kind of herbicide, but what are the side effects? Is this plant still safe for humans to eat? What happens if the plant accidentally cross breeds with other plants in the wild? (And should we even be using herbicides?) So there are a lot of issues.

^ not true there are tons of pros like curing desease raising the human life expectancy for a few, but like always their are cons but most are whether is ethical to change people on a genetic level and because it hasent really been done we don't know for sure of the physical side effects.

Pros :

1) Create A bigger population

2) cure diseases by genetic therapy

3) leaner meat produced by animals with genetic modification

4) Bigger crops can be produced & productivity increases

Cons:

1) If a person has a disease they do or do not know about, they could potentially spread it to the human/animal created.
