There are 22 provinces in Ecuador. They are: Azuay, Bolivar, Canar, Carchi, Chimborazo (also the name of the tallest mountain in Ecuador), Cotopaxi (also the name of the tallist active volcano in the world), El Oro, Espmeraldas, Galapagos (the Galapagos Islands), Guaya, Imbabura, Loja, Los Rios, Manabi, Morona-Santiago, Napo, Orellana, Pastaza, Pinchincha, Sucumbios, Tungurahua, and Zamora-Chinchipe.
