The Germans were forced to sign the Treaty of Versailles in June 1919. They didn't have any choice, and they had to accept all the blame and pay reparations. They owed $30 billion dollars, lost Alsace & Lorraine and territory on their western border and colonies overseas. In general, the main focus of the treaty was to punish Germany.

The major provision of the Treaty of Versailles was that Germany and the rest of the Central Powers pay compensation to the countries affected by WW1. The treaty also imposed military restrictions on countries, especially Germany.

There's plenty of material on the web. Probably the most burdensome provision of all was the payment of reparations.
