What are the qualifications to be in the House of Representatives?
The US Constitution sets out three requirements for a Representative: 1. Must be at least 25 years of age. 2. Must be a US citizen for at least 7 years. 3. Must be a resident of the state he or she is representing.
The United States Constitution establishes the qualifications for members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. According to Article I, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, House members must be 25 years of age, a citizen of the United States for at least seven years prior to being elected, and a resident of the state he or she is chosen to represent.
