This answer is wrong. Ice burns, however small (even ice cubes). Putting ice on a burn can cause more damage. Cool running water is the best treatment for a burn, and if severe will need medical attention.

∙ 11y agoIce can be applied directly to the skin for a shorten period of time. Providing a barrier to the skin decreases the effectiveness of the ice. Yes the ice can burn the skin but prolonged periods such as hours 20 minutes will not burn the skin.
Reference: Athletic Trainer have been using ice to the skin for many of years thousands of ice bags applied never a problem

∙ 9y agoIce will help, but only for about 7-8 minutes at a time, after that the cold will damage nerves, you can reapply after the toe warms back up and repeat the cycle until the pain is bearable.
If you have an aloe plant in the house break off a leaf and apply the juice to the burn, it helps.

How do you stop hot oil from burning skin?
Normally when you get a burn it's always good to put toothpaste on that burn it prevents it from making a bubble and swelling up. It may burn for a lil bit but you should be fine.
