∙ 9y agoThe Receiver of memory is the most IMPORTANT job in Jonas' community, and one person holds it for a long period of time. Only those who have pale eyes (most of the people in Jonas's community have dark eyes) and see something called 'the color' can be the Receiver of Memory. The current receiver of memory cannot request to get released (death) unless he/she had taught his/her successor. Jonas in the book become the Receiver of Memory. (Written by Andy Moon)
