'Cypripedium acaule' is the scientific name of the moccasin flower. Other common names include pink, stemless or Venus' lady-slipper. This wildflower favors the filtered light and partial shade of evergreen forests and wooded areas. It attracts pollinating bees that pass, assembly-line fashion, through openings in the front and back of the rosy-pink, pouch-shaped blooms.
