if you here weird noises like eek eek or thump thump
Could possibly a solenoid on the starter going bad. Could possibly a solenoid on the starter going bad. Could possibly a solenoid on the starter going bad.
Chances are the starter solenoid has developed a bad spot. If you are handy you could try to replace just the solenoid otherwise it may be time for the starter/solenoid combo.I assume you have checked your battery cables.
When a shift solenoid goes bad the solenoid doesn't make any noise.
A solenoid can be used as a compass when a DC current is going through it because when a current is going through the solenoid, the magnetic field lines are nearly uniform and perfectly parallel inside of it, giving it essentially a north pole and south pole.
theres a clicking noise then nothing happends
Switch the ignition to on. Put your meter to 12VDc. Touch the hot wire going to the solenoid with the meter positive probe . Touch the meter negative probe to ground. If you have 12VDc and you don't hear a click when you turn on the switch, the solenoid is probably bad. If you don't have 12VDc, check fuses and the wire going to the solenoid.
its going to be some were on the tranny a small metal rode is going to be connected to the park/shift solenoid and that metal rode runs throw and connects to your shift handle inside the car/truck
It is important to know the signs of a bad car part. The signs that a glow plug relay would be fast clicking from the solenoid, or no clicking at all.?æ
take your multimeter and set it to volts, going into the solenoid you should have anywhere from 12.2 to 14v and coming out it should not drop anymore than 1 volt. If it does the solenoid has to much resistance and should be replaced
Solenoid the starter is stuck would be my suspicion.
Could be the "Torque Converter Lock-up" Solenoid sticking in the lock position.
